Drainage Design

Almost the entire city is criss-crossed with public wastewater and stormwater piped infrastructure, conveying wastewater to various treatment plants and conveying stormwater to discharge points and ultimately terminating in the ocean or the inner harbours.

All new developments require a wastewater and a stormwater connection to these existing public piped infrastructure. Many developments are in close proximity to such pipes with straight forward connections possible. Unfortunately many properties being developed do not have any public drainage infrastructure nearby, and it is required to extend the public piped infrastructure to be within reach of the site being developed.

Whether it is straight forward connections being required, or a more elaborate drainage infrastructure extension required, we can be of assistance from the resource consent stage, through the Engineering Plan Approval (EPA) process and through the construction, certification and sign off process. We complete detailed engineering plans that are essential for gaining approval from Council and can be used by contractors to assist them in preparing quotes and serves as a blue print guide during construction. We are available to the contractors during construction helping them to interpret the plans correctly to ensure a compliant end result.

We strive to come up with creative and inventive solutions, and we have often helped developers to unlock the true value of "left behind" pockets of properties by finding practical and cost effective drainage solutions that can service and enable these "left behind" pockets of properties.

We can also assist with culvert designs where a road or a driveway crosses over a stream or a drain, and ensure that the stream crossing remain passable and safe in all rainfall events.
